NLPF seeks to work with communities in conflict areas to prevent violence and provide a platform for dialogue and ultimately peace restoration. The Foundation works with warring communities to deepen the collective understanding of the conflict and bring together the communities to create a platform to resolve their differences peacefully. The Foundation acts as a first-time responder to conflicts, We build peace through encouraging genuine partnerships, promoting comparative learning through a tailored approach, and engagement whilst not taking sides. Leadership training equips young women with leadership skills and create spaces that facilitate young men and women to lead social change. We share information and resources to build leadership skills.
Naisula Lesuuda in her early days worked as a journalist at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation where she hosted Good morning Kenya in 2009, after ten people were killed in cattle rustling in Laikipia, she became a founding member of the Laikipia Peace Caravan. This in turn led to the founding of a number of other local peace organizations, supported by the Kenya government. This is where she left her job to found the Naisula Lesuuda Peace Foundation which advocates for the education of girls and for the eradication of female genital mutilation and child marriage, community peacebuilding, education promotion, and economic empowerment programs for women and youth, health promotion and environmental conservation.
To be a role model organization in promoting the peaceful coexistence of pastoral communities, promoting access to education for vulnerable children, and economically empowering women and youth in Samburu County.
NLPF’s focus areas encompass the creation of innovative solutions around; community peacebuilding, education, and economic empowerment programs for women and youth, health promotion, and environmental conservation.
The Foundation seeks to establish partnerships with institutions, investors, philanthropic individuals, and other development stakeholders to execute projects and to promote ideas for self-sustainability.
