It was a day like no other on the 23rd of December 2017, when for the 1st time in the history of Samburu West Constituency, students from tertiary institutions spent a day with the Member of Parliament to consult on matters of bursaries and other issues affecting the comrades.
When given a chance to speak, the students were very grateful for the opportunity given to express their challenges when they try to access bursaries from the county government and from former CDF office. The students anonymously agreed that dialogue and consultation was the way to go in solving the challenges they had raised.
Their MP, Hon Naisula Lesuuda OGW, on the other hand, promised to involve the students in the decision making concerning the bursary application process. Secondly, she informed the students that as opposed to earlier CDF office practices, only those who deserve bursary will be given. To this the students applauded!
The students left hopeful that finally, they have a Member of Parliament who listens to them and good days lie ahead for the education development of Samburu West Constituency.
